Motorcycle safety event

Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa. - PennDOT offers free safety and training classes for motorcyclists of all skill levels.

As the weather gets warmer, more motorcyclists will hit the roads. PennDOT officials said it's important for all drivers to be alert.

"Motorcycles can't stop on a dime like cars can. Sometimes it takes them a little extra time to get stopped. So we want to make sure everyone gives them their following distance and watching out for them because they are smaller and harder to see," said Anthony Scalia, PennDOT District 9 Safety Press Officer.

The Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) and Harley Owners Group are hosting a motorcycle safety awareness day on Saturday, April 29 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m at the  Zepka Harley-Davidson in Johnstown.
