ALTOONA – Altoona Police are searching for the suspect responsible for chopping down city trees for several days.

Police say the most recent targeted location is along Logan Boulevard near Mansion Park. They believe the incidents occurred over the past weekend, and it appears the suspect or suspects used a handsaw.

In addition to the Mansion Park area, three other trees were vandalized along 12th Avenue at 17th Street, Union Avenue at 19th Street, and 6th Avenue at Union Avenue.

The Altoona Shade Commission says it will cost around $4,000 to replace the trees.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Altoona Police.
