BELLEFONTE, CENTRE COUNTY - A Centre County jury found a Clearfield County man guilty of being part of a convenience store robbery.

Jason McGonigal was convicted Monday.

The 27-year-old had been on trial for crimes related to a holdup on Dec. 20, 2012 at the Puff Cigarette Outlet in Philipsburg.

Police said McGonigal came up with the plan to rob the store and then convinced a friend to pull a knife on the cashier. They got away with about $800 and two cartons of cigarettes.

Prosecutors said the two used the money to buy heroin.
