LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - A local man was in Vegas, competing in the World Series of Poker.
Altoona native Sam Moore said competing in this is something he's wanted to do since he was a young kid. So he saved up the $10,000 buy in, and went off to Vegas to play.
Unfortunately, he busted out right before the big money.
Moore tells us he had to let the loss set in, but now said he's proud of himself and that this is something he'll never forget.
"Looking back on it and reflecting and stuff, coming out here and doing this, and having the gull to actually do it, it was a big deal to me. I'm definitely happy with the experience."
Moore said he would love to compete again next year. That is if he can save up the $10,000.
