Since the trade, critics have blasted the Obama Administration. Senator Bob Casey (D- Pennsylvania) is defending that move, saying there are policies in place, to ensure no soldier gets left on the battlefield.
"If you believe in that policy as I do, you have to take steps to further that policy. cant just say we won't do anything about it.”
Congressman Keith Rothfus (R – 12th District) agrees, but questions what costs came with that move.
"I do have concern about where these individuals are going to end up, they're in Qatar right now there's supposed to be supervised and we're seeing that they're walking around freely, that's what I've been told.”
BOTH CONGRESSMAN ROTHFUS AND SENATOR CASEY SAID THEY STILL HAVE A NUMBER OF QUESTIONS
"The nature of guarantees, the nature of the national security implications of it,” said Sen. Casey. “But I think the admin takes very seriously."
"This administration has not been fully forth coming on a lot of issues and we need to continue to hold them accountable," said Rep. Rothfus.
In the next coming weeks, both Rothfus and Casey say they will be attending meetings to learn more about what happened.
