"I had actually forgotten about it and I got a text from our manager Joe and he said Hey ITunes put the album out 30 minutes early," Derek Mrdjenovic says,
Derek's excitement level picked up quickly though. Within just a few hours of it's release on I-Tunes, The Big Time’s album "Imaginary Heart” jumped from 99 to the top 50 on I-Tunes Alternative chart.
"We really pushed ourselves to do something different and challenge ourselves and when I saw that it just kept climbing it went from 69 to 50 I was like wow this is surreal," Derek says.
Derek and his bandmates Aaron, Brandon and Dylan are all from the Altoona area. In fact their music video features a few well known places around town.
"Its just really cool the local support that we've gained in the last year or so is great and it just feels like we're doing something right and something good to have not just these kids, but adults behind us," Derek says.
Their fanbase only continues to grow and The Big Time is exactly that on social media with nearly 55 thousand twitter followers.
"We're artists now who are unsigned and can sell ourselves because we have this outlet to connect with our fans and really keep them involved," Derek says.
And while they're not sure exactly how many people have bought the album yet, they hope there's more to come.
"It feels like just the beginning. It feels like a good start,” Derek says,
The band scheduled to play a show here in Altoona on September 20th, and they're working out the details to headline their own tour.
