Jackson, Zanic Square Off For Judge

HUNTINGDON - All eyes here in Huntingdon are on the race to replace longtime Judge Stuart Kurtz. Huntingdon County District Attorney George Zanic going up against Assistant District Attorney Gregory Jackson.

Both men say if elected, they have some big shoes to fill.

"He's a good friend and it would mean a lot to be able to follow in his footsteps," Jackson says,

"Looking at the job he's done, there's really not much to change," Zanic says.

Zanic has been district attorney since 2008, and has worked in Huntingdon for 20 years. He says that experience has him ready for the next step.

"I've spent my career in the courtroom and that's what I love. I think it's time and I think I'm ready," Zanic says.

Meanwhile Jackson has lived and worked in the county his entire life. He says his versatility makes him the right man for the job.

"The real work of the judge and where most of the work is in family law, custody, support, civil litigation, That is where the bulk of the work is in Huntingdon County. It's not in criminal litigation," Jackson says.

And now both candidates say they're excited to sit back, relax and watch the results roll in.

"We put in a lot of hard work and it's just up to the people of Huntingdon County who are the greatest people in the world," Jackson says.

"It's exciting for everyone. All the people who have supported me and I'm looking forward to getting to the finish line that's for sure," Zanic says.
