HUNTINGDON, HUNTINGDON COUNTY -- three communities in Huntingdon county are asking for your help in growing and expanding for the future.

Mount Union, Mapleton and Shirley Township are Blueprint Communities. They are working on five year plans to improve the local economy and help bring younger families to the area. Part of that plan is talking with people who live, visit and work in those areas. Huntingdon County Business and Industry is working on the plan and wants broad community input.

Amy Wise, the Executive Director of Huntingdon County Business and Industry said, “These communities are ready to move forward. They've got ideas in place they've got people in place and I really feel like they're on the brink of making something awesome happen in their communities."

There will be a meeting Wednesday at 6 p-m at Mount Union High School. Future meetings have not been decided, but will be posted online at hcbi.com.
