Hot Summer Nights in Bedford

Bedford, Pa. - South Juliana Street was packed with people joining in on the Hot Summer Nights festivities as bands played on both ends of the block.

One local resident said it was as if everyone from Bedford was there. Jason Tew said, "It feels like it. When you're here you get to see people you haven't seen in a long time. It's great for the community, it's a great opportunity for people to come out and see Bedford who normally don't get to come out and see Bedford."

River Troutman came with his father to serve food from the Kountry Kettle Restaurant. He said he enjoyed spending the time with his dad and getting the chance to interact with the people.
Troutman explained,"I like seeing people smile at me and stuff after I give them the chicken and then they come back and say it was really good. That just makes me feel really good."

Tew says events like this along with the others form Downtown Bedford Incorporated has helped promote the downtown and bring everyone together.

He detailed, "I love what they've done with this. The whole Downtown Bedford community has been great for everybody. They help grow the community, people get a chance to see what Bedford has to offer and it brings people into the area."

The music made it easy for some to show off their best moves. The party continues  with Bedford's Independence Day Celebration.
