This hometown hero has been a police officer in the area since 2003, but took on an additional job in his free time. And it's a job that most people wouldn't want.
Brian Reidy is a Logan Township Police Officer in Blair County. His father was an EMT and he learned about community service at an early age.
"I like working in the community I grew up in, born and raised in. It's nice to give back to the people" he says.
He's also a deputy coroner on his days off. He investigates the cause and manner of death of people in the area. The toughest part he says is to give death notifications. But he recognizes the importance of that job and how essential it is for the community.
He says "I'm able to give comfort and closure to family when they need it most, death of family member or death of a friend."
He doesnt' get much time off, but spends much of it riding his motorcycle, including in Burgi's Low Life Ride, raising money for children with special needs.
