Former KDR Member Hopes Lawsuit Brings Change

- STATE COLLEGE - A former fraternity brother at Penn State's chapter of Kappa Delta Rho brought forward allegations regarding hazing, drug use and a secret Facebook page to the State College Police Department in January 2015.

The police are investigating the allegations.  James Vivenzio, 21, is that former brother. He says before going to police with this information, he approached Penn State University officials in April 2014 and he says they did not do anything.

The University responded saying Vivenzio and his parents did not file a complaint at the time they say they approached the officials.

Vivenzio says he was burned with cigarette butts and punched while pledging Kappa Delta Rho. He says he witnessed other pledge members be forced to drink alcohol mixed with urine, hot sauce and vomit. His lawyer says Vivenzio suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to the hazing he sustained at the fraternity house.

Vivenzio says he never intended on being a whistleblower but is hopeful bringing the information to light and bringing a lawsuit against the university, Kappa Delta Rho national organization and Penn State Interfraternity Council will bring change and awareness to the seriousness surrounding hazing.
