LOGAN TOWNSHIP, BLAIR COUNTY - Fireworks tents have been busy recently as the 4th of July holiday approaches. Those tents do not bring in a large amount of money for the county. They only have to pay a small fee to operate, and the county doesn't see any added money.

When it comes to these tents the only fireworks you can buy contain less than 1.4 grams of composition. Those are your basic sparklers. In order to set off some of the larger fireworks that permit must be purchased through a local township or borough. In Logan Township it takes a one million dollar insurance plan just to get the license. Logan Township Police Chief Ron Heller says five groups, including Lakemont Park and the Altoona Curve have applied for licenses.
