HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY - Fire destroyed nearly an entire block in one Blair County community.

The fire started around 4:00 Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex at 117 Allegheny Street in Hollidaysburg. Ten people were displaced and several homes and businesses were destroyed.

Audrey Riling and Shawna Reilly ran out of her burning apartment without shoes or anything.
So did and her dog timber.

Fire fighters think the fire started in the kitchen of an apartment building and then spread to the rest of the block. It also damaged the Front Street Deli. As the cold night went on fire fighters had more problems. The water they were spraying on the apartment complex froze on the street making things more dangerous.

No one was hurt and the Hollidaysburg Police were there to help with the evacuation. The Red Cross helped all the families at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hollidaysburg.

Officials say it could take several days before all this is cleaned up.
