Fire Hydrant loses 200,000 Gallons

Bedford police are looking for the person or persons responsible for opening a fire hydrant and causing about 200,000 gallons of water to be wasted.

Police say it happened on Enterprise Lane at Business Park 1 in Bedford Township, Bedford County.

Police say the hydrant was opened by unknown means and that it was open for several hours before it was discovered by the Bedford County Water Authority.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police in Bedford.
