Fatal crash in Houtzdale

Houtzdale, Clearfield County, Pa. - One person is dead and five more are injured after an accident in Clearfield County Sunday evening.

Officials say around 6:00 p.m. last night, 31-year-old Gregory Millinder Jr. of Madera lost control of his Jeep Wrangler while traveling south on Sterling Avenue in Woodward Township.

The Jeep swerved into oncoming traffic and struck the back end of a Corvette before colliding head on with a Chevrolet Belair.

A passenger in the Belair, 70-year-old Mary Caprio of Lock Haven, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Gary Stover of Loganton, was airlifted to UPMC in Altoona. 

Both occupants of the Corvette were taken to UMPC Altoona. The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries. 
 
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call them. 
Sterling avenue had to be shut down for several hours last night, but it is back open this morning.
