The freezers at the three Family Services Shelters in Altoona are getting pretty bare. And they're asking for people to help them feed the hungry.
Jason and Michelle Brandt have been living at the Family Services Shelter for about two months with their children. In that time, they've both found jobs, and Jason is just a couple of weeks away from starting his. In the meantime he's become the chef at the shelter. So he knows how empty the pantries and freezers are.
This shelter gives about a 150 people a place to live each year. And now the executive director is asking the public's help to stock the shelves and freezers. Lisa Hann and the people that work there, say you'll be glad you did.
Jason enjoys cooking for all the families living at the shelter. But he's looking forward to starting his new job soon so he can move his family out and let someone else benefit from the shelter.
