SCALP LEVEL, SOMERSET COUNTY - Officials are now confirming one of their K9 officers was hurt in a police standoff this week.

Thursday Jack Prescott refused to come out of his home for police when they came to serve warrants on him. Police say Prescott shot Deanna Hoffman who was in the home with him, but she survived and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He later killed himself.

K9 Officer Dutch was injured on the scene. Officials say he is now on medicine and recovering at home.
