DuBois waitress receives national award

DuBois, Clearfield County, Pa. - Maureen king has been a server at the DuBois Red Lobster for thirteen years.  King is highly requested by her customers in the store, at least three to four times a shift. One of King's most high profile customers is singer Aretha Franklin, who visits the restaurant every year.

The waitress was recently  nominated by her general manager,  Laurie Sliwinski, for the company's "Team Member Of The Year Award."  Sliwinski had to a write a referral letter for the competition. Sliwinski explains that King is an outstanding team member, whom she can rely on for anything. "When you get comments from our guests, they say she makes me feel such at ease when we're with Maureen," boasts Sliwinski. 
 
King was flown to the Texas, during a Red Lobster convention. She and Sliwinski were surprised to receive the honor on the Dallas stage. King was one of eight national winners, selected from each region. She beat out more than 50 thousand nominees and applications from across the nation. 

King explains that she is overjoyed by the honor and doesn't see herself leaving the seafood chain anytime soon. "My time has been wonderful here, I love my management crew here, my team members. I don't think I can go anywhere else at this point. This is home to me."
