DuBois robotics team advances to regionals in North Dakota

Dubois, Clearfield County, Pa. - The DuBois robotics team will be heading to North Dakota after taking home first in this weekend's robotics competition. The group competed this weekend in the  Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology (BEST) Robotics competition at Penn State DuBois.

WTAJ had an exclusive look last week on the team's winning robot, OSCRR. The group came in first in every category except for one. They were judged on their robot, along with other categories such as marketing, software design, and the exhibit.

The team says they have to prep for some tough competition in regionals. "In our local competition we usually do pretty good, but then when we get to Fargo it's a completely different ball game. There's so many good people and it just really makes us try harder to beat our competitors," explains builder Jeremy Krise.

The team will fly out to North Dakota State University for the competition in early December. The team says it can get expensive to fly the team members, the robot, and all the equipment. They plan on holding fundraisers to help off set the cost.  The second place team from St Marys high school will also be making the trip to North Dakota.
