CLEARFIELD, CLEARFIELD COUNTY – A 53-year-old DuBois man was sentenced to 8-16 years in state prison Tuesday for operating a methamphetamine lab in his home.

Authorities from the Board of Probation and Parole discovered the meth lab in Steven Sunealitis’ South Main Street home in May 2013 while conducting a routine home visit. Authorities obtained a search warrant for the residence, and seized all the equipment suspected to be used in the final product and some suspected methamphetamine.

Sunealitis was found guilty during a jury trial in January of Manufacture of a Controlled Substance and other offenses.

Members of the Sandy Township Police Department, State Police Vice & Narcotics Unit, State Police Clandestine Laboratory Response Team and West Sandy Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene due to the hazardous conditions created by the lab.
