HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY – Police announced Wednesday the Prescription Drug Take-Back Day held October 26th collected nearly 700 pounds of prescription drugs in the region.

The DEA sponsors the event with law enforcement organizations across the country, and the aim is to get harmful prescription drugs not being used off the streets.

People dropped off 691 pounds or prescription drugs at State Police barracks across the region, including 302 pounds at the Hollidaysburg barracks alone.

All of the drugs collected were incinerated.
