Departments join together for fire safety day

Logan Township, Blair County, Pa. - Fire departments from Logan Township were set up at Home Depot in Altoona to teach kids about fire safety Saturday.

Trucks from the five different departments were set up  for kids to look at as well as some of their life saving tools.

Boys and girls also had the opportunity to see a demonstration of the 'jaws of life' in the store parking lot.

We caught up with the organizer who is a volunteer firefighter herself.

"Fire safety is number one to me. So reaching out to the community and getting them involved and coming out is great. Spending time with the kids and looking at the different apparatus's and gear, so they're not afraid when we come to them," said Shannon Snyder.

Crews were set up until noon.
