The borough decided one week ago they were going to buy the building and lease it to a non-profit organization. CASE, the Collaboration of Arts, Social Services and Education, decided to withdraw their request to partner with the borough.
“We’re disappointed, I think is the best word,” said CASE President Mary Dupuis. “It’s not that we didn’t think that this kind of thing could happen, but we wished it had happened positively because we love the building and we think it would be so great.”
The Borough Council voted 5-2 to waive their right of first refusal.
