CLEARFIELD, CLEARFIELD COUNTY – Governor Corbett announced Wednesday the award of three Keystone Communities grants worth more than $500,000 to Clearfield Borough to make downtown improvements.

The Keystone Communities program will provide funding for a $30,000 façade grant and two public improvement grants in the amounts of $49,683 and $458,887.

Clearfield says they will use the money to update their sidewalks, curbs, landscaping and such downtown on streets including Front, Second, Main and Third.

The grant will also be used to add benches, bike racks, garbage cans and other accessories to the sidewalks. They feel the "facelift" will provide more walk and ride ability downtown and will assist in making it a place where businesses want to be and where people want to go.
