PHILIPSBURG, CENTRE COUNTY – The 33-year-old owner of a towing service was arrested Tuesday after a State Police investigation into his alleged sales of heroin.

State Police say John Bowes of Philipsburg sold undercover troopers heroin at Rebel Towing on Curve Street.

State Police began their investigation in December, culminating in a Tuesday raid on two businesses Bowes owns and his home along Walton Street. Police say they found heroin, paraphernalia and $21,000 cash.

One of Bowes’ employees, 42-year-old Walter Wagner Jr., was also arrested.
