JEFFERSON COUNTY - Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, according to the Red Cross. During the holidays they can see a shortage in donations and winter weather caused them to have to cancel drives this year.

In Big Run, they hosted a blood drive in honor of a woman who always assisted them when it came time to having one.

"We're remembering Sarah D. Fox who was a past Lady's Auxiliary President and she was it of a number of years. She just passed away within the past year, She would be here every blood drive" said VFW 9044 member Bob Lott.

The drive was also in honor of her husband, Chuck Fox, who had been having health issues. Sadly, they say Chuck passed away while the drive was going on Monday.
