Blair Sheriff accused of sexual harrassment

Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pa - The drama inside the Blair County Courthouse continues to unfold. Chief Deputy Samuel McClure was again forced to leave the courthouse on Monday.  He has been on paid leave since March 16.

The Blair County Commissioners office has now confirmed that McClure is under investigation for sexual harassment.  As that investigation continues, McClure is not permitted to be in the courthouse.

Here is part of the statement released by the office of the Commissioners:

"Chief Deputy McClure entered the Sheriff's Department this morning, April 3, 2017, with his attorney, Paul Puskar. The human resources director and the county administrator spoke with Chief Deputy McClure and his attorney instructing them to leave the Sheriff's Department. Chief Deputy McClure refused to comply. He was then presented with a written notice to not enter upon the property of the Sheriff's Department, and he was advised that the same notice has been forwarded to the Hollidaysburg Borough Police Department.

Hollidaysburg Borough Police Chief David Gehret and Officer Jeff Friday arrived at the courthouse at the request of the county commissioners and spoke with Chief Deputy McClure and his attorney, who both then left the courthouse.

Chief Deputy Samuel McClure has not been and is not precluded from discussing the allegations and his admissions to them."

McClure was named Acting Sheriff earlier this year after Sheriff Mitch Cooper retired. McClure is still intends to seek the nomination for the full-time Sheriff position in the May Primary Election.
