The Basket of Hope program started four years ago. It hopes to give more than 200 baskets to families who are leaving the abused and emergency shelters.
They say they collect appliances, pillows and lamps -- anything to help people get on their feet.
Gary Drenning, Chairperson, Leadership Blair County Alumni Association, said, "They're very important. They help them get their fresh start and their things that they need to help start in their new homes and their new lives."
You can contribute to the cause by dropping off goods anytime at Blair Family Services main office on Broad Street in Altoona.
