JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Two by standers follow a bank robber and tackled him to the ground.

It happened Tuesday morning at a credit union along Central Avenue in the city’s Moxham neighborhood.

Tyler Reed was arrested and charged with robbery and theft.  Johnstown City Detective Tom Owens said a man in the bank noticed something was off and followed Reed outside.

“The subject entered the bank and demanded money from the teller,” said Owens.  “The customer noticed something was going on and followed him out.”

Reed tried changing clothes in the bank parking lot before the customers ran after him

Police said the man chased Reed through several streets; he even got help from a second man who called 9-11.  Both men tackled Reed off of Grove Avenue to the ground.

The chase was captured on camera at Jackies Toss n’ Wash.

‘He (Reed) kept going he knew they were right on his tail,” said Andy Alvarez, store owner.  ‘We heard it on the scanner.”

Reed is in the Cambria County Jail.
