JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY - A group of people in Johnstown were trying to rescue a deer trapped in the Conemaugh River.

People in the Cambria City section of the city have been watching a deer in the part of the river for about ten days. They say two other deer that were trapped in the same location already died.

They've been tossing the deer apples so it would have something to eat.

And Tuesday evening around 15 people went into the Conemaugh to try and get the deer out.

The group says they asked police and fire to do help get the deer our, but they said they couldn't. The Game Commission responded to one of their Facebook requests saying that they were not going to do anything about the deer.
