Attempted Abduction

ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Around 11:30 Friday morning in the area of North 12th Street and North 4th Ave in Altoona, a male attempted to abduct a young school-age female under the age of 10.  The male suspect was described as an older white male, heavy-set with grey hair and glasses.  The suspect has a long grey goatee with no mustache.  The vehicle is described as a white minivan with windows and a sliding side door.  The victim described yellow streaks and damage on the rear of the van, possibly damage from a prior accident.  The male suspect attempted to lure the young girl into the van with candy and when she refused he grabbed her by the wrist and attempted to pull her into the van.  The victim screamed and was released by the suspect.  She then ran and the suspect fled in the minivan.  Any information on the suspect or the vehicle should call Detective Worling at 949-2469.
