An Altoona cop has been re-assigned after being charged with felony assault.

Tuesday night, the Altoona City Manager made a statement about the actions of Officer Matthew Plummer. He was off duty on Saturday night near Pittsburgh for the Kid Rock concert. Plummer confronted a man he thought hit a bus with a bottle and exposed himself. The Washington Observer reports that Plummer first avoided a punch, then hit his attacker in the face. Altoona police put Plummer on desk duty while an investigation is underway. The 27 year old cop has a preliminary hearing in Washington County on September 23rd.
