The suspect forced his way into the home while the two people inside ran upstairs.
According to a police report the suspect pointed a gun at both people inside the home, and one of the individuals hit the alleged invader in the head with a baseball bat.
Shortly thereafter the suspect ran out of the house and escaped in his vehicle.
Police later captured Ned Caldwell, III in DuBois, and he was arraigned in front of District Judge Hawkins on multiple charges including burglary, criminal trespass, aggravated assault, simple assault recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and several other violations.
He is currently in the Clearfield County Jail facing a $100,000 bail.
