PHILIPSBURG, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Police say a man allegedly tried to lure children into his vehicle Friday evening at an area park.

A six-year old and other children told Pennsylvania State Police a man driving a truck tried to lure them with candy while they were playing at a park in the Philipsburg area.

The man allegedly tried to grab one of the children, but was kicked in the shins allowing for the child to get away.

Although the abduction attempt did not happen on school property, the Philipsburg Osceola Superintendent told WTAJ he's informing parents, teachers and bus drivers to stay vigilant.

Police say the alleged abductor is a white male driving a dark, rusty and possibly gray two-tone Ford/Dodge pickup truck with a red cross in the left rear window.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact PSP Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
