JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY – The 26-year-old accused of throwing a toddler down a set of stairs is facing two additional charges.

Maurice Davis Jr. had his preliminary hearing Monday with all charges bound over to court including two additional assault charges.

Davis was arrested in February after a 16-month-old was injured in what Davis told police was a fall down the attic steps. A doctor determined the injuries were not consistent with a fall but child abuse.

The now 17-month-old child was flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and remains in serious condition.
