EBENSBURG, CAMBRIA COUNTY - You may have noticed people running all over town Saturday morning.
They were all participating in this year's HeartChase.
Thirty teams took part.
This event is national one that helps raise awareness and money for the American Heart Association.
Runners went from checkpoint to checkpoint, participating in small competition, like you see here.
Organizers say that this year, they beat their goal of $20,000.
“My mother suffered a heart attack and had to go in for emergency quad bypass surgery this past November, and we have a history of heart disease in our family," said Lynn Miller, 2014 HeartChase Chair.
"To help people in need, like that have heart disease and can't afford to buy a heart with their own money," said Dylan Long, participant.
As a proud sponsor of the event, some of our team at WTAJ News took part in the chase.
