HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania will share in a multi-million dollar settlement from a major drug company, accused of misrepresenting the uses of its asthma drug and its antidepressants.

Pa. will receive $4 million, from GlaxoSmithKline as part of a $105-million consent decree involving 44 states. The settlement is designed to resolve allegations that the company illegally promoted Advair, Paxil and Wellbutrin.

According to the state attorney general's office, the settlement prohibits GSK from making false, deceptive or misleading claims about its products or promoting them for uses not approved by the FDA.
