Pennsylvania is one of 34 states that could be affected by 2 opposing court decisions on the Affordable Care Act. First, a federal appeals court in Washington D.C. ruled on Tuesday that subsidies provided under the healthcare law could only go to people in states with their own health care exchanges.
Then, within 2 hours in a different case, another federal appeals court ruled that the Obama Administration was allowed to provide the subsidies nationwide.
The rulings won't take effect immediately, and the judges gave the administration time to appeal.
