Starting this fall, some drug stores in the region will stop carrying tobacco products. CVS says its taking its more than 7600 pharmacies in the United States out of the tobacco business.
The company will also promote a smoking cessation program in its stores and online this coming spring. CVS says it's come to the conclusion that tobacco doesn't belong in a setting where healthcare is being administered.
Several local residents told WTAJ they applaud the move by the drug store chain, but one man said he chews tobacco and should be able to buy it wherever he wants.
