Musical Pacifier Helps Preemies

Researchers may have come up with a new way to help premature infants learn how to eat on their own more quickly. They're giving them special pacifiers that contain music devices and play songs recorded by the babies' mothers.

When babies sucked at just the right rate and strength, they were rewarded with their mother's voice. New research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center shows it helps the newborns quickly master how to eat on their own.
