HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA - The Corbett Administration says it's been notifed by the federal government that its application for a waiver from Medicaid expansion is complete. That means that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has posted the application, which begins the 30-day public comment period. March 28 will mark the end of the time provided for public comment.
Instead of expanding the Medicaid rolls, the Healthy Pa. Plan would use federal money to buy private health coverage for recipients. It would also require some recipients to pay premiums and conduct a work search.
The proposed Healthy Pennsylvania Plan is slated to begin in January 2015.
The HHS link to the application is: https://public.medicaid.gov/connect.ti/public.comments/view?objectid=1852995.
