Earlier this summer CHS publicly reported a data breach affecting 4.5 million people nationwide, stemming from cyberattacks in April and June. CHS confirmed that hackers gained access to patient names, addresses, birthdates, telephone numbers and social security numbers.
CHS confirmed that the stolen data did not include medical information, and said the breach occurred in physician practices affiliated with the company, not in its hospitals.
CHS has 20 hospitals in Pennsylvania, mainly in the eastern portion of the state.
