According to the latest figures, about 160,000 Pennsylvania residents have signed up for the Affordable Care Act. Thirty-four percent are 55 to 64 years old, with people 35 to 64 making up the bulk of the enrollees. Fifty-six percent are women, 44 percent men.
Meantime, the State Insurance Department says it's concerned about people whose policies were scheduled to be canceled because they didn't meet the requirements of the ACA.
The administration has agreed to allow these policies to continue, but if you've already signed up at www.healthcare.gov, you probably won't be able to withdraw and enroll in one of those bare-bones policies.
