Contest Directions: Submit a digital photograph (see photo guidelines in the official rules section) of yourself along with a short essay (no more than 250 words) answering the question, “Why Should I Win The Great Makeover contest?. Essays and photos will not be displayed on WeAreCentralPA.com for viewing purposes during the contest period. Contest submissions must be received by midnight on June 27, 2008 via the contest form on WeAreCentralPA.com or mailed to WTAJ-TV, c/o The Great Makeover Contest, 5000 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA  16602. The winner will be selected and announced on July 7, 2008.

Submission/Photo Guidelines: Photos submitted digitally must be at least 300 dpi resolution and no larger than 3MB. Photos not following these guidelines may be disqualified from the contest. Submissions may also be mailed to the station in lieu of electronic submissions. In order to submit via mail, please include a 4” x 6”photograph of yourself along with your typed essay to WTAJ-TV, c/o The Great Makeover, 5000 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA  16602. All entries must be postmarked by June 27, 2008 to qualify. All photos mailed to us will not be returned, but may be picked up at the station once the contest period is over. Or you may send a self-address, stamped envelope along with your submission and we will return your photo at the conclusion of the contest.


Official Contest Rules:
1. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws apply.

2. By entering, each contestant accepts and agrees to be bound by these rules. All decisions made by WTAJ-TV and www.WeAreCentralPA.com will be final and binding.

3. Open to legal residents of Altoona/State College/Johnstown television DMA who are 21 years of age or older. Employees of Nexstar Broadcasting Company dba WTAJ-TV/WeAreCentralPA.com; Farneth Family Dentistry and PA Oral and Facial Center or employees of their respective affiliates, advertising, or promotion, security, cleaning and other leased employee agencies and their immediate families or person residing in the same household of each are not eligible.

5. Odds of winning will be determined by amount of entries received.

6. Cash award will not be offered in lieu of prize. Prize cannot be transferred, redeemed or exchanged. No substitutions allowed.

Selection of Winner: Winners will be announced on July 7, 2008 by Farneth Family Dentistry and PA Oral and Facial Center and announced on WTAJ-TV and WeAreCentralPA.com. Winner will be notified via phone. All prize winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, advertising and liability release within 5 days of notification or prize may be forfeited. Winners must provide identification through either a Social Security Card, birth certificate, or an official photo ID (Pennsylvania State License, Official State ID, or Military ID) to verify age and residency. Verification could take up to one hour as identification is verified, waiver/agreement forms are signed and winners may be videotaped for broadcast. If travel to WTAJ is determined by management to be an extreme difficulty, arrangements will be made to conduct the verification process by mail. If the winner does not provide adequate verification, then they forfeit winning and another random drawing will be held to determine a winner. All decisions by management accordingly are final.

Prize: One winner will receive up to $10,000 in Cosmetic Dentistry from Farneth Family Dentistry of Clearfield and up to $10,000 in Free Facial Cosmetics from PA Oral and Facial Center of DuBois.

Notification: Once notification is provided to winner, you will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability, and where legal, publicity release. Failure to sign and return the affidavit of eligibility and release within 5 business days of notification may result in forfeiture of the prize and another random drawing will be held to determine a winner. By participating in this promotion and submitting an entry, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of management accordingly. By entering the contest, winners agree to waive any and all claims against Nexstar Broadcasting, WTAJ-TV/www.WeAreCentralPA.com, Sponsors, Prize providers and all of their affiliates, employees, agents, directors, and representatives for any and all claims, including but not limited to personal injury or loss that may occur from the voluntary participation in this contest or from the receipt or use of any prize, and grant to WTAJ-TV/www.WeAreCentralPA.com, Sponsors and Prize Providers the right to publicize such winner's name and/or likeness without additional compensation or consideration unless prohibited by law.

Nexstar Broadcasting, WTAJ-TV/www.WeAreCentralPA.com, Sponsors, Prize Providers and all of their affiliates, employees, agents and representatives, or any telephone network or internet service providers are not responsible for incorrect, inaccurate transcription or loss of entry information for any reason whatsoever. If, in the management's exclusive judgment, this promotion becomes compromised in any way, WTAJ-TV/www.WeAreCentralPA.com reserves the right to withdraw the promotion offer, cancel any method of entry, to void any entries submitted fraudulently or select winners from all eligible entries received prior to act that compromised the promotion. By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these official rules including all eligibility requirements. Any attempt to deliberately damage the content or operation of this sweepstakes is unlawful and subject to legal action by the Television Station/s or its agents. In the event of dispute, electronic entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address at the time of the sweepstakes. The authorized account holder is the person to whom the applicable Internet service provider or other organization (such as business or educational institution) has assigned the e-mail address. The management reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of winners and to disqualify any individual they find be acting in violation of the Official Rules or other legal or ethical standards. Decisions of management accordingly on all rules - which may be subject to changes are final.
