Melissa Steininger

Melissa Steininger is the DuBois Bureau reporter for WTAJ. Melissa was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and is happy to be back reporting in her home state.


 Before moving to Central Pennsylvania, Melissa started her career in television news a producer for CBS 6, WRGB, in Albany, New York. There, Melissa produced primetime coverage for the 2016 Presidential Election, while covering the state races in the capital of New York. 

 Melissa began her career just weeks after graduating from Temple University in May 2016. While in the city, she was a freelance multimedia reporter for Fox 29, where she reported for the “GoodDay Philadelphia” weekend morning show. Melissa was also an anchor, reporter, and Emmy winning producer for Temple Update, TUTV’s news station that airs live on Philadelphia programming. Her favorite moments include reporting live during wall-to-wall coverage of the Papal visit to Philadelphia, and covering the state budget battle in Harrisburg. Melissa also had multiple internships during her time at Temple.

 In her free time, she loves exploring the new local areas, finding a mom & pop coffee shop or hiking the nicest views in the area. Melissa also enjoys the arts. Having grown up performing, she can be seen attending local theatre & musical productions. Melissa is thrilled to be close to her family & friends.
