Mustardy Cabbage

This is one of our Oktoberfest favorites. Serve our Mustardy Cabbage along side some brats, or any main dish for some authentic German flavor!

Serves: 6
Cooking Time: 20 min

What You'll Need:

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 head green cabbage, shredded
1 apple, cored and chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons whole grain mustard

What To Do:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, bacon, and onion and cook 6 to 8 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and onion starts to brown.
  2. Add the cabbage, apple, salt, and pepper and continue cooking 8 to 10 minutes, or until cabbage is wilted. Stir in cream and mustard and cook 2 to 3 minutes, or until heated through.
