ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Burgmeier's and WTAJ are teaming up again to host the first shredding event of 2014, at Wolf Furniture along Sellers Drive in Altoona from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 16th.

During the event people can safely hand over up to 40 pounds of material and get it shredded for free. All sensitive documents containing personal information can be dropped off. They can be stapled or paper clipped, but large plastic clips and three-ring binders cannot be shredded.

In a change from 2013's shredding events, eWaste will not be accepted at this year's events.

Burgmeier's has opened a new office in Bedford, along Route 30 up from the Jean Bonnet Tavern. The office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is also a dropoff recycling center for:
  • E-Waste
  • Co-mingled papers and Newspaper / Magazines
  • Tires
  • Cardboard
  • Oil
If you can't make it to the event, Burgmeier's offers residential and commercial document shredding and accepts materials to be shredded at 1340 Old 6th Ave Rd, Altoona PA 16601 from 8 to 4 Monday through Friday. Call Andy to make an appointment at 800-491-8975 ext 2311.
