PSU Recognizes Sexual Violence Awareness Week

An estimated one in four women, and one in six men will experience a sexual assault in their lifetime.  Moved by those statistics and her own sexual assault experience, Penn State Student Jasmin Enriquez created "Sexual Violence Awareness Week" on Penn State's Campus.

Sexual Violence Awareness Week runs April 6th through the 12th in various locations throughout the community.

Sexual Violence Awareness Week Supporters will be stationed in the HUB every day from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. handing out "Only Do It With Consent" t-shirts, educational materials and information on local resources.  Students will also be invited to sign a three by nine foot banner, marking their pledge to obtain consent before having sexual relations, and to abstain from making jokes about sexual violence with their peers.
