State College’s favorite Christian rock band, CHoSen, performs on today’s show.

Last year CHoSen band members, Larry Sprankle and Brett Rodkey, appeared on the show to promote their involvement in Faith Day 2013. While they were here, they recorded two bonus songs for us!

According to the Altoona Mirror, the band’s name is based on 1 Peter 2:4 from the Bible. The verse states: “As you come to him, the living Stone-rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him.” Band members say the C, H, and S are capitalized to emphasize that they have been “Chosen for His Service.”

CHoSen describes their sound as a mix of southern rock and modern country. In 2010, the band released their first EP called “Crying Out.” Last May, they finished their CD “Vapor.”
