Pennsylvania runs many programs for seniors that are funded by the Lottery. But there is one phone number that people can call when looking for assistance.
"The senior helpline is actually the hub of everything that goes on…it's the first place where older people, their families, and in fact, professionals from hospitals or home health agencies can turn to find out information for their loved ones," said Holly Lange, President and CEO of PCA
"We handle over 400 calls per day - everything from "can I have the phone number to my nearest senior center" to " I really need help to stay out of a nursing home," explained Chris Gallagher, Director - PCA Helpline.
The helplines are often multi-lingual and, like Philadelphia's PCA, local agencies in every county help clients get the help they need.
If you have questions about assistance or benefits, call the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, (717) 783-1550.
